Program Overview

Established in 1986, the QIIP is the only immigration program in Canada offering a fully passive investment route to permanent residence. Successful applicants receive PR status for themselves and their immediate family, with the freedom to live and work anywhere in Canada after landing.

Eligibility 

In order to have eligibility to apply in this stream the applicant must have:

Education

Minimum secondary (high school) education

Management Experience

Minimum 2 years of management experience
Gained within the last 5 years
Can include business ownership or senior management roles

Language Requirement

Minimum French proficiency at B2 level (intermediate-advanced)

Residency Requirement

Intention to settle in Quebec
Physical presence requirement typically includes at least 6 months within a 2-year period after obtaining a work permit

Financial Requirements

Net Worth $2 Million CAD

Assets may include real estate, business ownership, investments, and savings
Net worth can be combined with a spouse

Full Investment

Invest CAD $1,000,000 through an approved financial intermediary
Investment is government guaranteed
Held for 5 years, after which the full amount is returned
No interest is paid
